Join us for a discussion with world-renowned artist and Orlando resident Jefre Manuel, who will lead a walking tour of public art installments in Lake Nona and offer a deep dive on how he has turned the business of public art into a profitable endeavor for real estate developers, municipalities and himself.
Working under the name JEFRË, Manuel has designed iconic works of public art that have helped define Lake Nona in the minds of residents and visitors, including “Disco” the 35-foot-tall silver dog in Lake Nona’s Town Center, the “Code Wall” installation of binary code on the Town Center’s parking garage, and “The Beacon,” a six-story digital art installation. His latest contribution to Lake Nona includes multiple statues in The Wave Hotel’s sculpture garden.
JEFRË has created life-size public art pieces in cities like Manila, London, Philadelphia and Abu Dhabi. He’s also the designer behind a 151-foot stainless steel “Jax” sculpture that has been proposed for installation in the Riverfront Plaza of Jacksonville, and what would be a 10-story, heart-shaped stainless steel sculpture proposed in the Tradition community in Port St. Lucie, a work commissioned by developer Mattamy Homes.
