It includes interviews and survey responses from more than 2,200 leading real estate experts. Brian Ness, PwC, will present the key findings of the report's 42nd edition and will focus on Orlando's performance.
    In this StimULI Webinar session, ULI and PwC present the results of the 2021 Emerging Trends in Real Estate® report.  Amidst the pandemic and ongoing uncertainty, how do market players see real estate evolving in 2021 and beyond?  What are the ongoing challenges and which opportunities will arise? We will also look further ahead at how the real estate industry will be shaped by significant shifts such as the future of our state and local tourism sector, the ability to increase equity in regional livability, and the impact of employment loss.

    As a practice partner and having spent time in PwC’s National office, Brian is responsible for some of the Firm’s most complex real estate/asset management engagements. With over 20 years of experience serving clients in the real estate/asset management industry, Brian’s work includes leading public and private client engagement teams in global financial statement audits, internal control reviews and providing assistance with public and private offerings. His experience includes working with public/private REITs, real estate investment advisory firms, opportunity funds, commercial developers, and residential homebuilders, as well as extensive transactional real estate investment and acquisition due diligence experience in connection with both property and corporate M&A transactions. Brian has consulted on accounting and reporting for real estate transactions including many of our real estate IPO transactions. Brian has completed two tours in the firm's National office, where he served many of the firm’s real estate clients. His primary responsibilities included leading the consultations on complex accounting matters, reviewing client registration statements, comment letters and periodic reports for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and SEC rules and regulations. He provided engagement teams with advice on complex and emerging accounting, auditing, financial reporting and SEC compliance issues. Serving clients and managing engagement teams around the world has provided Brian with a global perspective within the real estate and asset management industry. He derives great joy and satisfaction leveraging colleagues around the world to deliver value and top notch service. With a passion for furthering youth education locally and around the world, Brian contributes much time to PwC's "Access Your Potential" program which has made a commitment to address youth education with a focus on financial literacy. Brian has also participated in PwC's Project Belize which teaches financial literacy to teachers and students in Belize City, Belize.

    Principal, Compspring

    Lisa is the Principal and Founder of Compspring, an independent real estate advisory firm. She started her career with Ernst and Young’s Commercial Real Estate Services Group, where her primary focus was valuation of commercial properties and site selection for industrial and government users. She also worked for Beazer Homes as a Strategic Market Analyst, where she advised on land acquisitions, target market audiences, repositioning of existing communities, and expansion strategies. Prior to founding Compspring, Lisa was a Vice President with RCLCO, a national real estate advisory company. Lisa holds a Masters of Real Estate from the University of Florida, where she also earned her Bachelor's of Design from the College of Architecture.
