SOLD OUT! Central Florida is in the midst of an attainable housing crisis! ULI will kick off the 2020 StimULI Breakfast series exploring the key findings and recommendations described in 2 reports focusing on housing affordability solutions in the region: Orange County’s Housing for All 10-Year Action Plan and ULI’s Attainable Housing in Central Florida Technical Assistance Panel.
There is no question that we are in the midst of a national attainable housing crisis. However, calling it an attainable housing crisis does not fully define the problem. If thousands of housing units were suddenly developed on the least desirable and inaccessible land in the Central Florida Region in an effort to eliminate the deficit in attainable housing units, we would still not have resolved the crisis. The goal must be to provide attainable housing in healthy, stable neighborhoods. The problem is not just the lack of attainable housing it is the lack of attainable housing in places people want to live including mixed use, walkable, transit-friendly communities with a diversity of housing and incomes.

Two reports have recently been completed focusing on solution to the housing affordability issues in the region. Orange County’s Housing for All10-Year Action Plan and ULI’s Attainable Housing in Central Florida Technical Assistance Panel (TAP). This presentation will address the key findings, recommendations, and implementation steps to address the housing affordability issues in our region.
