5 Florida DCs publish Building a Healthier Florida

With the help of a FY14 ULI Innovation Grant, the five Florida District Councils held Building Healthy Places (BHP) workshops across the state, culminating in a publication named Building a Healthier Florida. The publication, available here, highlights very different places and challenges in each district council suggesting BHP criteria and strategies to improve the built environment. Event Recap: 2014 Emerging Trends

On January 31, 2014, over 200 Central Florida developers, urban planners, land use lawyers, and builders convened at the Country Club of Orlando for the 2014 Emerging Trends in Real Estate Conference. ULI Florida Receives $25,000 Grant

The Urban Land Institute announces that Florida’s five ULI District Councils have been awarded a $25,000 grant to plan and execute their newest initiative Building Healthy Places.   The goal of the statewide initiative is to encourage the Florida real estate industry, business, and civic and community leaders to update policy and design standards to include those that promote public health. Mayor Glenda Hood Receives Award at the 2013 ULI Fall Meeting

The Urban Land Institute recently recognized Former Mayor of Orlando Glenda Hood as the 2013 recipient of the Robert M. O’Donnell Award.
